ProFlex - for outstanding abrasion performance
Once you use ProFlex you won't go back to standard aluminium oxide!
Aluminium oxide is the abrasive of choice used by trade professionals in preference to sandpaper and ProFlex takes it to the next level, replacing the standard backing paper with an ultra-flexible, crack-resistant cotton cloth, giving outstanding performance with curved and profiled surfaces by moulding effortlessly to match their shape for fast, efficient sanding.
Aluminium oxide outperforms sandpaper in every department: the grains are more durable, have a self-sharpening action and clog less, giving high performance that outlasts sandpaper by up to 10 times.
ProFlex is ideal both for hand sanding - with or without a sanding block - and machine sanding: at 115mm wide the roll is the standard width for power tools and it is easy to cut.
Trade quality low clog aluminium oxide that lasts up to 10 times longer than sandpaper and other silicon carbide abrasives and gives an ultra smooth, even surface ready for painting, priming, staining or varnishing
Cotton cloth backing for ultimate flexibility and crack resistance - ideal for moulded surfaces and easily cut to size
Suitable for hand or machine sanding of wood, paint, plaster, fillers, metal and more
120 grit Fine grade suitable for final sanding prior to applying a first coat of paint or varnish to wood, smoothing surface imperfections, removing texture on plaster and fillers and removing water stains on wood. Not suitable for removing paint or varnish.
5m roll length x 115mm width ideal for machine/electric sanders and hand/manual sanders
Grit guide
ProFlex is available in a range of grits that deliver very fine to very aggressive abrasion and it's important to select the correct grit to match the task at hand. Use the guide below to help you make the right choice.
40 grit Extra Coarse grade For the toughest jobs, such as stripping very rough or built-up surfaces with or several layers of paint or varnish. This grade gives aggressive abrasion so reserve it for the most difficult tasks.
60 grit Coarse grade For sanding rough sawn wood, rapidly removing previous coatings, wiping away a layer of debris with minimal effort and shaping or rounding edges.
80 grit Medium grade For removing varnish, smoothing surface imperfections and sanding of bare wood to prepare it before painting. Gives medium to coarse surface texture after sanding.
100 grit Medium-Fine grade For removing one or two layers of paint or varnish, smoothing minor surface imperfections and sanding of bare smooth planed wood to prepare it before painting.
120 grit Fine grade For final sanding prior to applying a first coat of paint or varnish to wood, smoothing surface imperfections, removing texture on plaster and fillers and removing water stains on wood. Not suitable for removing paint or varnish.
180 grit Very Fine grade For smoothing minor imperfections between coats of paint, removing surface imperfections, deburring edges and sanding filler to a smooth finish.
240 grit Extra Fine grade For sanding bare wood for a smooth finish before staining, between coats of paint or varnish to give an adhesion key for the next coat and creating a smooth and even finish with plaster
